Sting of death looms as Covid 19 cases rise
All is not well in Zimbabwe as COVID 19 continues to rear its ugly head
One hundred and twenty-four people tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday, 8 August 2020, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has announced.
The majority of the cases (118), were local transmissions while (6) were returnees from South Africa. The Ministry said:
One hundred and twenty-four (124) cases tested positive for COVID 19 today. These include 118 local cases and returnees from South Africa.
Today 213 ROT screening tests and 1212 PCR diagnostic tests were done. The cumulative number of tests done to date is 148 451 (78 136 RDT and 70 315 PCR).
Since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak on 20 March 2020, the total number of confirmed cases is 4 575, recovered 1416, active cases 3 057 and 102 deaths.
