Residents of Harare’s eastern suburbs of Tafara, Mabvuku and Caledonia are up in arms against se_x workers whom they are accusing of contributing to moral decay and fuelling criminal activities.

Se_x workers have allegedly turned these high-density suburbs into a an extensive red-light district and are allegedly contributing to an increase in vices that are associated with the so-called oldest profession.

Women in Action (WA), a women’s group whose major task is to fight pr0stitution in Caledonia, says it will leave no stone unturned in the fight against pr0stitution.

“In our case, we are having se_x workers that are coming from such far-away places as Goromonzi and Ruwa among others. By dusk, these scantly-dressed ladies will be lining our streets, making suggestive gestures to whoever passes-by.”

“These ladies must be driven away since they are bringing with them vices and moral decadence,” Mrs Cecilia Mutenga, chairlady of WA said.

Mrs Mutenga said her group, which falls under the Caledonia Residents Association Trust (CRAT), wants the buildings in which the se_x workers use as their love nests to be destroyed.
