Zengesa West MP and firebrand Politician Job Sikhala and his friend Daniel Molokela Whange Central MP can be recalled anytime from parliament by Douglas Mwonzora.

The two legislators defied orders to join the MDC-T grouping opting to remain with Nelson Chamisa’s MDC A even at the expense of their parliamentary seats.

Molokela contacted Zimbabwe Observer to announced that he was prepared to be re-called for standing with Chamisa.

“Yesterday afternoon l got a phone call from a reliable source alerting me that the MDC T National Standing Committee on Tuesday morning met and resolved to recall me and Hon. Job Sikhala. The official announcement is now expected to be done in Parliament today or tomorrow afternoon,” said Molokela in a message to Zimbabwe Observer.

When asked to explain if he regrets not switching allegiance to Mwonzora, Molokela said he feels liberated by the recalls.

“I am very relieved,” he said.

Sikhala confirmed that his recalling was loading.

“It’s rubbish as far as I concerned. No time for it,” said Sikhala.

The respected and experienced, University of Zimbabwe and Witwatersrand University trained lawyer, Molokela said he will concentrate on establishing his law firm in Whange.

“Yes. Now focusing on setting up my new legal practice,” said Molokela who added that the MDC-T outfit never approached him directly to request him to join them. He also said he last spoke to Mwonzora before the start of the recalls.

MDC-T has been recalling MDC A MPs, Senators and councillors immediately after a court ruled that Chamisa unlawfully took-over power after Morgan Tsvangirai’s death. The court bestowed the leadership on Thokozani Khupe, who was defeated at the MDC-T congress in December last year by Mwonzora.

MDC-T spokesman Witness Dube, did not respond to a question sent to him.

Just like his predecessor, Mwonzora continued to chop off elected representatives accusing them of having ceased to be members of MDC A. There is now a political confusion in the opposition as both Mwonzora and Chamisa claim to be leaders of an alliance of opposition parties, MDC Alliance.

Recalled MPs stand to loose their parliamentary allowances, luxury vehicles and fuel coupons.
