Bail application for Hon. Job Sikhala who was arrested yesterday in Harare has been postponed to Monday.

Sikhala, spokesman of 31 July Movement (J31M) has been the constant voice of citizens who are demanding the immediate stop to looting of state coffers by the Emerson Mnangagwa led regime, respect of human rights and return to the rule of law.

The Zengeza West legislator was arrested in his hiding place yesterday by police who broke into the house.

The fiery former student leader is facing charges of inciting citizens to overthrow an elected government. Honourable Sikhala who is also a top Harare lawyer is being represented by a team of celebrated attorneys led by Eric Matinenga. Harrison Nkomo and Jeremiah Bamu are the other members of the legal team.

Meanwhile the deputy spokesman of J31M Jairo Chimutashu has issued a statement warning that Citizens would escalate their peaceful protests if the regime continues with the detention of their leaders.

“J31M is not about Sikhala, people will continue demanding what all other incarcerated leaders are demanding,” warned Chimutashu.
