ZESA board suspends Gata over corruption charges
ZESA board has placed the power utility CEO Sydney Gata on precautionary suspension. ZimLive, a credible whistle blower news outlet, has just revealed the suspension on Twitter. This followed after damaging allegations of corruption were leveled against. Gata rejoined ZESA after being hired a few months ago by the Minister of Energy Fortune Chasi. However today Chasi sang a different tune. He instructed the Board to investigate corrupt allegations against Gata and report to him within five days.
The Board met and decided to suspend him in order to pave way for investigations into allegations leveled against him. Details of Gata’s suspension are still sketchy, we will update this article as new details emerge.
