Moana’s mother planning a second memorial service for her daughter

Late socialite Michelle ‘Moana’ Amuli’s mother Yolanda Kuvaoga is planning a second memorial service for her daughter who died in a freak accident in November after clashing with Moana’s father.
This comes after Moana’s father, Ishmael Amuli, and the Amuli family held their own memorial service dubbed Sadaka three days after the socialite’s burial which she was not part of.
Speaking during an interview with The Daily News, Moana’s mother revealed that she was in the process of organizing her own memorial service for Moana which will be held next year on the 2nd of January.
“Mitchelle’s memorial service is set for January 2 in Highfield. I was not part of their Sadaka as I do not understand their Islamic culture. In short, we have failed to agree on everything, from the burial,” said Kuvaoga.
Socialite Moana died in a fiery car accident on 8 November alongside popular socialite and businessman Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure and two of their associates from Malawi and Mozambique.
Ever since her death in the fiery car accident, Moana’s paternal and maternal families have been at each other’s throats over how she would be buried and how she would be commemorated. Her parents had a nasty public fallout and the feud even spilt into the courts of law where her father, Ishmael Amuli, a Muslim, was later granted burial rights by the High Court. Yolanda was strongly against the decision to have her daughter buried under Muslim culture and Muslim rites.
Moana’s paternal and maternal families ended up putting their differences aside and gave the fitness enthusiast a send-off at Warren Hills Cemetery.
