Khama Billiat to join Pitso Mosimane at Al Ahly
Zimbabwean international, Khama Billiat has been linked with Egyptian giants, Al Ahly, in a deal that could see him reunite with Pitso Mosimane.
Mosimane was Billiat’s coach at Mamelodi Sundowns before the Warriors striker moved to archrivals, Kaizer Chiefs.
Pitso stayed with Masandawana and joined the Egyptian and African Champions only recently.
Billiat is now in the last five months of his contract with Amakhosi and speculation has begun in South Africa about his next move with both Sundowns and Al Ahly reportedly interested in signing him.
Amakhosi also have an option to extend Billiat’s contract by a year and sources at the club have suggested Chiefs will exercise that option.
A South African football magazine Soccer Laduma, has reported that the 30-year old is also under the radar of Al Ahly, Zamalek and Pyramids, all Egyptian clubs.
The publication further says Billiat’s former coach at Mamelodi Sundowns, Pitso Mosimane, who is now the head coach of Al Ahly still admires the Zimbabwean attacker.
This would not be the first time for Al Ahly to have interest in the Zimbabwean player after they nearly signed him back in 2016.
Meanwhile, Billiat cracked a leg bone last month which has ruled him out for a minimum eight weeks and all but ruling out any possible move in this current transfer window.
It’s expected then that his future will be settled in the coming months when he will be fully fit.
