Sungura maestro Alick Macheso is not about to dump his bass guitar and the mike for politics.

The Mberikwazvo boss Macheso made the remarks in response to reports that he is joining politics and angling to become a Member of Parliament in the 2023 elections.

Social media platforms is awash with claims of Macheso’s intentions to contest for the Gutu West parliamentary seat in the 2023 elections. However, the Ace chibhasikoro dancer maintained that he was sticking to the dance floor adding that he was far from being a politician.

Macheso expressed his contentment with the guitar and mike while lamenting reports linking him to politics.

Macheso’s manager Tich Makahamadze said that his client has no intention of joining politics at any point in the future Makahamadze said that reports about Macheso joining politics are better of being released on April Fools day because they are so ridiculous.

Makahamadze revealed that Macheso has been spending a lot of time at his farm in Chivhu due to the downturn caused by the restrictions from the Covid-19 lockdown.

“This resulted in some people claiming that Macheso Macheso was mobilising support on the ground and was spending time with villagers,” said Makahamadze.

In unrelated news, the Zimbabwe Republic Police has dismissed the reported break-in at the office of Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) chairperson Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo as a false alarm.The police said that according to investigations carried out by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), no break-in occured at the offices. According to the police, an old curtain rail moved on its own due to wear and tear, and in the process moved a ceiling panel, giving the appearance that the office had been broken into.

The police went on to say that thorough investigations by crime scene investigators from the CID had established that there was no break-in and that nothing had been tampered with or stolen.
