The Harare man, Legwani Mavhunga, who was burnt by an unknown acidic substance by members of the dreaded Premier Spy Agency, has been rushed to Parirenyatwa Hospital as his condition continued to deteriorate.

He was sneaked to the poorly equipped public hospital by members of the Law and order section of Harare Central Police Station where he is being detained..

Legwani Mavhunga has now been rushed to Parirenyatwa Hospital

This was done against wishes of the members of Friends of Job Sikhala who wanted to take him to the privately owned avenues clinic, where services are better.

“They have suddenly rushed him to Parirenyatwa Hospital from Harare Central Police Station’s law and order section after the whole world has been alerted to his desperate situation. They are refusing him to be attended to by private doctors from well-wishers,” said Sikhala in a twit.

Sikhala urged Zimbabwe citizens to continue fighting for Mavhunga ’safety through tweeting.

“Your voice is very important this hour. Let us re-twit,” said Sikhala.

Zimbabwe Observer contacted Minister of State Security Owen Mudha Ncube with a request for an explanation over Mavhunga’s detention and torture. Ncube remained tight lipped over the issue.

The Minister read our messages as they are now blue ticked. The messages were sent while the Minister was online. He did not respond.

Instead, he went offline for a few minutes and came back again.

He then switched offline again when we sent another message pressing for a response.
