Hyena mauls boys in the face during an all night prayer
AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Masvingo boy is battling for his life at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals after he was mauled on his face by a hyena during a night prayer meeting.
Rodwell Ngomazana was under the custody of his grandmother, Martha Sasikayi, 62, at an all-night prayer meeting organised by Zviratidzo Zvevapositori Church when a hyena attacked him.
The incident took place at Benzi village under kraal head Pedzayi. Ngomazana was rushed to a clinic and later transferred to Masvingo General Hospital then to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals where he is receiving treatment.
Gogo Sasikayi said Ngomazana was rescued from further attack by church members.
“We were attending a church service at night when Ngomazana came to me asking for sheets to cover himself since he wanted to sleep,” said Gogo Sasikayi.

“He was mauled on his face and I thank God he is alive and I want to believe prayers from a local prophet Takura Seremani helped him survive the attack.
“He told us that it was a spiritual attack that manifested in the form of a hyena,” she said.
Ngomazana’s mother Shamiso Mabika said she was yet to come to terms with the incident. She also appealed for medical assistance.
“The incident remains a mystery to me and it came at a time when I was expecting the best results from my child who is in Grade Three.
“A few days before the incident, he took photographs with his grandmother and they were happy. It is disturbing to see my child in this condition of pain and agony.
“I have received a list of what is expected to be carried as part of his treatment, but I am poor that I cannot afford the medical bill.
“I am appealing to anyone who may assist me in meeting the needs for my son to receive treatment,” said Mabika.
Prophet Seremani of Body of Christ Ministries has claimed that his prayers would kill the hyena and the person behind the hyena will confess.
“With prayer everything is possible and I see Ngomazana’s future bright despite the attack since it was spiritual and I am going to kill the hyena and the person behind this will confess about the evil act,” he said.
