Covid 19 hits Mberengwa Rural District

MATAGA – The Covid 19 plague has sneaked into the poverty stricken rural district of Mberengwa.
Twelve new cases were reported yesterday from Mberengwa, Neta, Msume and Mataga, according to statistics released yesterday by the Ministry of Health.
Two of the positive cases were identified through contact tracing while 10 were picked through routine screening at health facilities. The district has 107 cumulative cases, 58 recoveries and 48 active cases. The recovery rate is standing at 54.2%. There are three COVID 19 related deaths but no new fatalities were reported yesterday.
So far 8501 Mberengwa residents have taken their first jabs while 6458 are fully vaccinated with two jabs.
