President Cyril Ramaphosa was too slow to act. As to why he failed to see this coming after the jailing of former President Jacob Zuma is too preposterous to merit even as a passing sneer. His intelligence officers should have surely picked that violent protests were brewing. Police and soldiers should have been deployed in advance to quell violence before even a single gets lost in the looting. Who will invest in such a country where the government is incapable of providing security to investors’ properties? This cannot be allowed to continue, Ramaphosa must shape up or ship out..
