Redcliff man fatally Stabs 6 congregants at a prayer vigil
A man from Redcliff has been arrested after he stabbed six congregants to death and injured four others at a prayer vigil.
The 26-year-old yet to be identified man reportedly pounced on an all-night prayer vigil around 3 AM this Saturday and started attacking congregants.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the tragic incident which happened at an apostolic shrine in Rutendo suburb on their official Twitter handle saying;
After arresting him, the police discovered that he was heavily armed. They recovered three spears, a hoe, axe, and a kitchen knife from him.
The police suspects that the accused is suffering from a mental illness.
In other news, iHarare reported that a mother of two from Chivhu died last month after succumbing to injuries sustained during a brutal assault by police detectives.
Sharai Mukaro was arrested and assaulted by detectives who were investigating a case where US$1 000 was stolen.
The Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) have since instituted legal proceedings against Detective Dondo, Police Boss Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga, and the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Affairs Kazembe Kazembe.
