PZ Candidate Majiri vows to snatch Kuwadzana Constituency from CCC’s Charlton Hwende
Selestino Majiri, is a young man from Kuwadzana on mission to rescue his area from nomadic politicians who have not offered much to his home constituency.
Majiri a Patriotic Zimbabweans (PZ) candidate who lived in Kuwadzana for all his life is taking head on the CCC Secretary General Charlton Hwende, who he dismissed as a failure.
“Previous MDC MPs for Kuwadzana were all from outside. They neither grew up nor stayed here, but only used Kuwadzana as a steppingstone to parliament and I am even told that Hwende stays in Namibia. He only emerges here during election time,” said the young aspiring legislator.
He added: “To me, it is not about just going to parliament but genuinely bringing back service delivery and development in an area that nurtured me and giving equal opportunities to residents of Kuwadzana.”
Majiri whose campaign has already taken off the ground said he was well received by residents of Kuwadzana who are tired of itinerant CCC MPs.
The constituency became vacant after Hwende was recalled from Parliament by his Party MDC A sand is now contesting again under the CCC ticket.
Kuwadzana’s former MPs, the late Learnmore Jongwe was staying in Belvedere whilst Nelson Chamisa, CCC leader who took over from him stays in Glen Lorne.
The soft speaking Majiri accused former Machinja legislators of using an archaic library without computers as an object of campaign.
“The CCCs have always used a library as a weapon to campaign and can anyone help me to understand how such a facility without computers and internet connection could paraded as an achievement.
“People need basic amenities like clean drinking water, houses and food. All this talk of a library does not address the people’s hierarch of needs,” said Majiri, a Kuwadzana high profile community young man.
Turning to Zanu PF candidate Chagadama, Majiri said the ruling party’s performance in his area was worse adding that ED’s political outfit was giving people illegal stands in anticipation for votes.
“We need proper houses with tap water, sewer and electricity not politics. These people they are resettling in illegal stands now will be evicted like dogs after election.
“Hatingatambi nehupenyu hwavanhu tichidaro in the name of politics. Tinofanira kuenzanisa mikana,” said the eloquent PZ Star Candidate.
Majiri said PZ’s clarity on issues of bread and butter persuaded him to join the President Charles Mutama led Party. He said PZ is bent on giving equal opportunities to all Zimbabweans which he believes was the critical need of every patriot.
“Before Charlton Hwende was recalled he had not done much. No collection of rubbish, no clean water, not able to stand for senior citizens to pay their rents. He failed to stop illegal structures and both Zanu PF and CCC are occupying Kuwadzana paddock which is a wet land, and those people should have proper houses with running water and electricity,” said Majiri
PZ President Mutama expects his candidate to win Kuwadzana constituency as he believes that both CCC and Zanu PF didn’t do much for the voters adding that his sweet gospel of equal opportunities to all was being received well.
“I can’t think of any reason why Kuwadzana voters will vote for any other Party except PZ because the area is impoverished due to non-delivery of services to the constituency. We want to bring back life to Kuwadzana. We can’t afford the luxury of a blame game as people suffer. We are not part of toxic politics, but we are more interested in equalising opportunities,” vowed Mutama.
PZ is contesting by-elections scheduled for 26 March which marks the Patriots’ first attempt to get state power. They managed to field scores of candidates throughout the country. The Patriots intend to contest every ward, constituency and the Presidency in 2023
