Mafume bounces back as Harare Mayor

BOUNCED BACK: Jacob Mafume
Jacob Mafume has bounced back as Harare mayor in yet another episode to the city’s mayoral soap opera.
Mafume was re-elected on Thursday during a council election that saw him defeat his challenger Elvis Ruzani by a vote of 22 to 15.
The position became vacant when Lovejoy Chitengu, who had replaced Ian Makone, was recalled by self-styled CCC interim secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu.
Mafume was mayor between 2020 and the August 23 harmonised elections.
