Ziyambi says Chiwenga can be elected President in 2030

As the country ends another day with two virtual presidents, Justice Minister Ziyambi has denied advising President Emmerson Mnangagwa to fire his deputy Constantino Chiwenga, and to pretend like he’s clueless of the calls to illegally amend the constitution.

He also denied commanding ZANU PF structures to threaten Chiwenga with crocodile milk, another term for poison, as he said there are no such calls. This was before being presented with a full colour video clip of an official party meeting where the pronouncements are made.

Speaking exclusively to ZimEye at around 8pm, minister Ziyambi initially said:
“It’s not a crime but it’s criminal to lie about what was never discussed, referring to his own instructions to Mnangagwa that he must pretend like the ZANU PF leader is not behind the tearing apart of the constitution.

He was reminded of the video recording of him passing instructions to party members and then he responded saying , “Videos never speak about VP.”

The amendment is all about pushing VP out, is it not?, he was asked, to which he said,

“From where. Congress elects a successor. Yati yagara here? [ has congress sat yet?]

“Who said he (Chiwenga) cannot be elected in 2030,” he asked ZimEye.

“How does a resolution done last year get launched this year. Have you ever heard him (Mnangagwa) saying l want to stay on,?” he went on.

That’s what the army and war vets don’t want and it is a betrayal of their agreement between Soko naShumba which is very clear; and that Mash West leadership is already singing kuti VP tichavakushisa mukaka weGarwe, which is a statement that you guys want to kill the VP.

Over the prayer-song that calls for Chiwenga to be fed crocodile milk, Ziyambi initially denied its existence, saying, “Where did Mash West sing that song. l am not aware of ZANU PF issues being confined to agreements between two people. l thought we go to congress?,” he asked.

He was presented with the video of one of his juniors who is the Chair person in Mash West who is inside an official provincial meeting pronouncing declarations that the vice president must be sprinkled with crocodile milk.

He then sped off to terminate the conversation at around 8.30 pm .
