..as press conference on Geza expulsion gets moved to a new venue

Harare – Chaos erupted at ZANU PF’s headquarters when party staff reportedly chased away Zimbabwe’s Justice Minister, Ziyambi Ziyambi, following the abrupt cancellation of a press conference.

The event was meant to announce the expulsion of Tafadzwa Geza, the party’s legal affairs director.

According to sources within the ruling party, tensions had been rising over Geza’s fate, with some senior members opposing his removal. However, a faction within ZANU PF leadership had reportedly decided to expel him, accusing him of misconduct.

The press briefing was scheduled to formalise this decision. When Minister Ziyambi arrived at the party headquarters, he was met with resistance from staff members who were reportedly angered by the situation. Witnesses say that party employees refused to allow him inside, demanding an explanation for Geza’s expulsion.

In the heated exchange, some staff members allegedly told Ziyambi that the move was politically motivated and unfair. The staff were not happy.

They were asking why Geza was being expelled when he had not been given a fair hearing,” said a ZANU PF insider who witnessed the commotion. “It seems there was a last-minute change in plans, and that angered many people.” As tensions escalated, the press conference was cancelled, leaving many questions unanswered.

Party spokespersons have not issued an official statement on the matter, and it remains unclear whether Geza’s expulsion is still being considered. Political analysts suggest that the incident reflects deeper divisions within ZANU PF, as different factions struggle for influence.

“This is not just about Geza. It’s about power and control within the party,” said one analyst. The chaos at the party headquarters has fuelled speculation about internal rifts ahead of upcoming political events. With no clarity on Geza’s status, ZANU PF members and the public will be waiting for an official response from the party leadership.
