Zanu PF calls for Sikhala security to protect him from his CCC comrades
RULING party Zanu PF has called for tighter security around jailed Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator, Job Sikhala, who has clocked more than 200 days behind bars for allegedly inciting violence and defeating the course of justice.
Zanu PF Director for Information, Tafadzwa Mugwadi, said this was necessary considering recent sentiments by Sikhala that some of the people close to him were hypocrites.
Sikhala accused some of his allies of trying to bring him poisoned food with a friendly smile.
“The State should increase security for Job Sikhala1 following his expression of real fears of danger from his peers in CCC,” Mugwadi said on Twitter.
Former Harare mayor and CCC councillor arrested for holding meetings with residents
CITIZENS Coalition for Change (CCC) councillors Herbert Gomba for Ward 27 and Lovemore Makuwerere for Ward 25 were Wednesday arrested on different allegations.
CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere confirmed the incidents on Twitter saying Gomba was arrested on allegations of holding a meeting with residents where he intended to unveil boreholes.
“Ward 27 Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) councillor, Herbert Gomba, has been arrested by Southerton police at a residents’ meeting where he was scheduled to unveil new community boreholes as well as hear the concerns and feedback of residents.
