Prison Officials Confiscate Sikhala’s BP pills
DETAINED BUT INNOCENT: Job Sikhala
Startling revelations were made in court that Zimbabwe Correctional Services (ZCS) confiscated BP medication for the detained Zengeza West MP Job ‘Wiwa’ Sikhala.
Denying Sikhala access to medication poses a danger to his life as BP patients are prone to stroke and heart attacks. No official reason was given by the ZCS for taking away Sikhala’s pills.
Sikhala has not been taking his prescribed medication for the past six days.
Sikhala made a passionate plea to Magistrate Tafadzwa Miti to force ZCS to return his pills.
The legislator’s request was not granted, but instead Miti called for an investigation to establish circumstances surrounding the confiscation of the pills.
There are also fears that the confiscated pills could be tempered with.
