A Harare Magistrate Barbra Mateko has postponed Takudzwa Ngadziore’s bail hearing to Monday because she said she is overwhelmed with work.

Ngadziore who is the Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) president was arrested for protesting at Impala Car Rental on Tuesday after Impala refused to publish the names of the people who hired the vehicle that was used to abducted MSU student Tawanda Muchehiwa.

During the brief court session in which Ngadziore was not asked to plead, the state, led by Lancelot Mutsokoti stated that:

The accused in his own words indicated in the video clip that he wanted all political parties, civic society organisations and pressure groups to start making noise and sabotage Impala Car Rental operations and cause the company’s collapse. He further indicated that his Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa must know that they are coming for him.

Ngadziore and his alleged accomplices took turns in using the loud hailer to call for Zimbabweans to come together and act against abductions of Mnangagwa’s rivals. As a result of Ngadziore’s actions, Impala Car Rental barricaded themselves in their offices and they could not freely move around doing their work at the company premises.

Ngadziore will be back in court on Monday.
