BULAWAYO – Four people were killed and two others injured on Monday after their vehicle overturned and rolled over a few times near Filabusi.

The four bodies lay strewn on either side of the wreckage of the Toyota Lite Ace vehicle after the driver ran over a pothole and lost control just before 4PM.

The two survivors were rushed to Filabusi District Hospital. One was in a critical condition while a second was stable, Matabeleland South police said.

Police said the vehicle was carrying traders returning to Mberengwa following a trip to the vegetable market in Bulawayo.

The driver had just passed an area called Amazon on the Mberengwa-Masvingo highway when he reportedly drove over a deep pothole which was half-filled with soil.

He lost control and the vehicle steered off road and flipped a few times before eventually landing on its wheels. All six occupants of the car were thrown out.

Three men and a woman died in the crash, according to police ZIMLIVE
