Zanu PF Councillor Bashed, Hospitalised For Bedding Married Woman
A ZANU PF councillor in Ward 20, Marondera Rural District Council has been hospitalised at the Marondera Hospital after he was left for dead following a severe beating by the husband of a woman he was bedding.
Joshua Neshamba is now admitted at the provincial hospital where he is recuperating after he was severely assaulted by Tinashe Mungwere of Mudavanhu Village under Chief Svosve.
Mungwere is married to Evernice Bokisi and the wife is involved in an illicit love affair with Neshamba.
Early this month, Mungwere was going through text messages on his wife’s mobile phone when he stumbled across communication between Bokisi and Neshamba.
Mungwere then texted Neshamba using Bokisi message and suggested they meet at a secluded place on the same day.
An unsuspecting Neshamba agreed and proceeded to the agreed rendezvous where he was shocked to find Mungwere waiting for him.
The councillor failed to explain his relationship with Bokisi before an enraged Mungwere bashed him with fists and booted feet leaving him for dead.
Mungwere reported Neshamba over his illicit affair with his wife to Chief Svosve and was supposed to appear before the traditional leader’s court last week.
However, he failed to as he is still hospitalised.
Neshamba is not new to sex scandals. A few years back, he wrecked the marriage of one Tonderai Mutokonya after he fell in love with his wife while the husband was serving time in prison.
On his release, Mutokonya told Chief Svosve that he had carried out his own investigations and found a photo of his wife and her younger sister posing next to Neshamba’s motorbike. Also, Mutokonya’s wife could not explain to her husband how she had acquired several bags of fertiliser and maize seed, which were stacked at their home.
“Each time villagers were called to receive agricultural inputs such as fertiliser and maize seed from the government, Councillor Neshamba would ensure that her lover received more than what was allocated to other beneficiaries,” a witness at Chief Svosve’s court said then.
Local villagers accuse Neshamba of luring married promising to give them government agricultural inputs, which include agriculture and maize seed.
However, local Zanu PF members in the area have demanded the removal of Neshamba as councillor and expulsion from the ruling party as he was bringing the name of the party into disrepute.
