ZIFA Fires national coach Zdravko Logarusic

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) board has fired national team coach Zdravko Logarusic.

The decision was made at a board meeting held on Sunday afternoon.

ZIFA also announced that the entire technical team has been disbanded and the appointment of the interim technical team shall be announced in due course.

Taking to their Twitter page, ZIFA wrote:

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) would like to inform the football fraternity and the nation at large that it has amicably parted ways with Senior Men’s team coach Zdravko Logarusic. The decision was arrived at upon consideration by the full Executive Committee of all the various relevant circumstances pertaining to the coach’s contract.
The entire technical team has also been disbanded.
The appointment of the interim technical team shall be announced in due course as the Executive Committee has already set in motion the process.

In other news, iHarare reported that the Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) has re-opened the November 2021 examination registration.

This comes after a significant number of students failed to pay the fees by July’s deadline.

On Friday, ZIMSEC said the new registration deadline is September 30 adding that candidates would pay the normal registration fees after late registration penalties were waived.

“All parents and candidates are advised to take advantage of this window to ensure that they have registered for the 2021 examination session and submitted any amendments where applicable,” the statement said.

Candidates who wish to add or delete subjects from their initial registration, Basic Education Assistance Module (BEAM) candidates and correction of any registration errors by centres and candidates will also be accommodated during this registration period.
