Shebeen queen in court for snatching daughter’s lovers
A SHEBEEN queen from Iminyela suburb in Bulawayo appeared in court for insulting and snatching her daughter’s lovers.
Samantha Sibanda (26) said her mother Getrude Sibanda (52) is in the habit of insulting her whenever she gets drunk.
She also accused her mother of stealing her boyfriends.
Samantha says she once caught her mother cudd_ling with her lover. Confronting her mother earned her a beating.
She feels the behaviour displayed by her mother is tainting their family reputation in the suburb.
To make matters worse they are not on talking terms.
“I’m applying for a protection order against my mother (Getrude Sibanda). She always insults me in the presence of customers (imbibers) who would be at home drinking beer. I have tried to engage relatives to talk to her but she does not refrain from her unbecoming behaviour.
As a family we have lost respect and dignity in the community because I caught her cuddling my lover after that we fought. She (Getrude) did not stop, she is in the habit of snatching my lovers and speaking ill of me to our customers,” she said.
Sibanda refuted the allegations levelled against her.
She said: “Samantha is telling this honourable court lies. She is the one who snatched my lover and always shouts at me.”
The presiding magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube granted the pair a reciprocal order which compels Getrude and her daughter not to verbally, emotionally and physically abuse each other.
