Police fire live ammunition to disrupt a CCC rally in Gokwe
Zimbabwe Police fired live ammunition and teargas to disperse thousands of Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) supporters who congregated to listen to their leader Nelson Chamisa who was scheduled to address them today.
Zimbabwe Observer understands that thousands of CCC supporters had to ran for their dear lives as police set their vicious dogs on them.
Video footages of the fracas in Gokwe show police waging running battles with Gokwe villagers who were seemingly fighting back.
The rally was disrupted even though the police authorised the gathering.
The High Court issued an order on Saturday barring the police from dispersing CCC supporters from their rally.
This did not stop the police from chasing away CCC supporters from the venue.
Contrary, Mnangagwa addressed thousands of bused supporters to attend his rally in Kwekwe about 170kms away from Chamisa’s rally.
