President Cyril Ramaphosa has broken his silence over xenophobic rants by Limpopo MEC Phophi Ramathuba who confronted a hospital bed bound Zimbabwean patient and subjected her tongue lashing for seeking treatment in South Africa.

Ramaphosa who is facing the toughest election challenge in 2024, threw his tacit support behind Ramathuba in a clear case of dancing to the gallery.

Ramathuba attracted global condemnation over her statement in relation to Zimbabweans flocking to South Africa for Health care while the country is struggling to deliver services to SA citizens.

Ramaphosa however sang a different tune. The ANC boss instead said Heads of State and Government in Africa must discuss the issues raised by Limpopo MEC of Health than condemn him.

Ramaphosa says Limpopo MEC of Health @PhophiRamathuba has raised important issues in relation to immigration and the ability of the State to deliver service to South Africans.
