Guns barked this Saturday at Kwekwe District Zanu PF headquarters as rival groups clash over disputed district elections. Several gun shots were fired into the air compelling Zanu PF delegate and members of the public to take cover.

The feuding groups belong to aspiring parliamentary Kwekwe Central Constituency candidates Kandros Mugabe and Energy ‘Dhala’ Ncube who clashed shortly before a district meeting.

All hell broke loose when a youth member, identified as  baba Courage allegedly fondled another party supporter who was holding a placard denouncing Kandros Mugabe.

Fists flew as youths exchanged blows, prompting the DCC leadership to call the police to break up the public boxing.

The fight left the Zanu PF Kwekwe DCC leadership with egg on their faces as they failed to control the youths who exchanged blows.

Police in Kwekwe could neither deny nor confirm the incident referring all questions to Assistant Commissioner, Paul Nyathi who could not be reached for a comment at the time of going to press.

More details to follow…
