Nelson Chamisa, the President of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), is set to launch his August 2023 national campaign in Mash Central on the July 8-9 weekend.

He confirmed this to his Parliamentary, Proportional representatives and Senatorial candidates in Harare today. The focus is on boosting votes in Mash Central12.

According to ZimEye, Chamisa’s campaign launch is seen as an invasion of Zanu PF territory1. This move is expected to ruffle feathers among Zanu PF supporters who have traditionally dominated Mashonaland Central province. The province has been a stronghold of Zanu PF since independence in 19801.

Chamisa’s campaign launch comes at a time when Zimbabwe is facing a number of socio-economic challenges. The country has been grappling with high inflation, unemployment and shortages of basic commodities such as fuel and electricity. Chamisa has promised to address these challenges if he is elected president in the 2023 election
