Wife left heart broken after hubby married, fathered her best friend’s babies behind her back

An anonymous wife’s story sounds like a horror movie script.

Not only did her husband cheat on her with her best friend, but fathered a baby with her, paid lobola for her and moved her in their matrimonial home. The hubby got the best friend pregnant again with a second child. The wife was kept in the dark about all these life altering developments.

Posting on Tete Fadzie’s Twitter account, the woman revealed that when she got married to her husband they discussed the issue of starting a family together. She said her husband wanted kids right away but she refused on the basis that she was to focus on her career first.

The wife has taken to social media to express her sorrow, anguish and to seek advice after discovering that she was a passenger in her own marriage that a best friend hijacked.

Her only sin was to refuse to have children immediately, but promised her husband that they they could only start having children after she turned 30 years.

Her husband could not await. The hubby didn’t want any of that, instead he impregnated her best friend 4 years ago. The best friend moved in with them with the baby claiming to be going through a ‘difficult phase’ of her life.

Now the best friend has fallen pregnant again while still staying at the couple’s marital home.

She then decided to take a leave of absence from work and during that period she noticed that there was uncanny resemblance between her best friend’s baby and her husband.  Out of curiosity, she decided to conduct a DNA test and the results confirmed that her husband is her best friend’s baby daddy.

She confronted both of them and they didn’t deny it, her husband actually told her that they both got what they wanted. Apparently, her husband paid lobola already for her best friend with the blessing of her in-laws who also want children.

Commenting on the story, a Johannesburg based marriage counsellor Martha Sigondo said the wife invited the disaster to herself by tempering with the main objective of a marriage.

“The main purpose of a marriage is to have children, so if a woman decides to suspend such a vital objective for six years, then she should expect such a development,” said Sigondo.

Added Sigondo: “If her story is anything to go by, the husband never agreed to suspend having children for more than half a decade, but the wife imposed her wish on her hubby. she was very nonstrategic and stupid to stick to such a marriage wrecking decision. What stopped her from bearing children while furthering her career? There are maternity leave facilities to cater for careerist mothers and most, if not all married women are utilising that. So what is so special about her profession or circumstances?”

Some Zimbabwe Observer readers took to social media to condemn the husband for cheating and using her wife.

The woman feels dejected and betrayed by everyone and is already contemplating taking her own life.

“Hello Tete. I need help. I am a career woman, auditor at one of the big four. I have been married to my husband for 6 years now no kids. When we got married we discussed the issue of children with my husband and he said he wanted children right away but since I wanted to focus on my career first before children I refused and told him we could have kids in my 30s.

4 years ago, my best friend got pregnant. And she moved in with us since she was going through a rough patch. I never met the father of her child, well that’s what I thought then. She has been living with us since. For three years now. And her child is 3 years now. my friend got pregnant again. I asked her who the father was she didn’t tell me I then requested a leave of absense.

I noticed that her 3 year old son looks like my husband. I took DNA tests and they showed that indeed my best friend’s son is my hubby’s. I confronted both of them with the DNA results. And my husband didn’t even refuse the issue. He simply said. We all got what we wanted. You got your career I got my kids. When I told his relatives about it. It seemed they all knew. As a matter of fact. Akatobvisa Mari yeroora. Ndodiii askana I feel like killing myself. I feel betrayed, dejected and depressed. Please help me.”

Here is some advice tweeps had to offer;

Divorce that guy. Start afresh. Go to therapy to deal with the trauma. There’s no other way. In an odd way you’ve dodged a bullet, that guy can’t be trusted. When (not if, WHEN) he has an issue with your former best friend, he’ll easily go the cheating route…..1/2

No justification for what your “friend” did. But coming to you, your expectations were unrealistic. 6 years no child? Marriages are about compromises. The way forward is to start afresh, hard as that may be. No way in this world can u continue facing your hubby and friend.

Are you 30 yet if not continue focussing on your career it’s very important

When you reach 30 you can talk to hubby and have your kids. Don’t allow your friend to take away your focus

I understand that the situation is difficult but killing yourself is not the solution. Take a break from everything & try to figure out what you want, find a professional counselor talk to openly. The decision to stay or leave is completely up to you but take your time ❤
